When You Need This

Common Reasons People Call

The Board Keeps Tripping

Power dropping when you run the kettle and the heater together? That's usually an undersized board with no spare capacity. We assess, upgrade, and balance the load properly so it stops happening.

Old Fuse Box, No Safety Switches

If your board still has porcelain fuses or no RCDs, you're outside current AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and your insurer may push back on a claim. We bring it up to standard in a single visit.

Prep for Solar or an EV Charger

Single-phase boards often can't carry a 7kW charger or a decent solar inverter. We upgrade to three-phase, add a dedicated circuit, and leave you ready for whatever you're installing next.

Frequently Asked

Switchboard FAQ

How much does a switchboard upgrade in Sydney usually cost?

A straight single-phase domestic upgrade typically lands between $1,800 and $3,500 depending on circuit count, meter changes, and access. Three-phase or commercial boards sit higher. We give a fixed written quote after we look at your existing setup, not a vague hourly rate.

How long will my power be off during the upgrade?

Plan on four to six hours without power on the day. We turn off the main, swap the board, terminate every circuit, then test before re-energising. If you work from home or have medical equipment, tell us at the quote stage and we'll plan around it.

Do I need to upgrade my board before installing solar or an EV charger?

Often yes. Older boards have no spare poles, no RCD on the relevant circuit, or only single-phase service. We confirm what you need on the site visit so the upgrade and the new install go in cleanly together, instead of you paying twice.
