Glebe's mix of Victorian terraces, share houses, and family renovations needs an electrician who handles old wiring without making it a saga. We've been doing it for 15+ years.

Glebe runs on terrace houses. Long, narrow blocks, double-storey Victorians, narrow side passages, and the occasional rear lane. Most of the housing stock predates the second world war, which means a lot of the wiring we find behind walls is on its second or third life. Cloth-covered VIR, rubber insulation that has gone hard, junction boxes hidden under a layer of plaster from a 1980s reno. Nothing unusual for the area, but every job needs a real assessment before you call it.
Student share houses near the University of Sydney are part of the rhythm here too. We get plenty of "the downstairs power is out and we're hosting tomorrow" calls. Most of those are an old RCD that has finally given up, but a few are signs of something bigger, like an undersized mains or a long-overdue switchboard rebuild. We tell you which it is before we quote.
